WHAT ABA THERAPY IS & HOW IT WORKS

ABA THERAPY

What is ABA Therapy?

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is therapy based on the science of learning and behaviors. It is the application of principles of learning and motivation to improve socially significant behaviors.

ABA programs are designed to assess and treat the specific needs of the individual to teach them socially significant skills to meet their needs and reach their goals. ABA is an evidence-based approach and use of skills, techniques, principles, and consistency to bring about significant and meaningful change in behavior.

Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) monitor and measure progress to ensure goals are met. Each client has individualized goals and each treatment plan will look different depending on assessments and observations.

Techniques such as positive reinforcement, prompting, shaping and fading are used to teach new skills while interacting with their environment in a relevant way and having fun.
